Description of Service / Activities

Families First (IW) ~ The Family Room

 

Families First (IW) (The Family Room) is a family support project providing parenting information and support primarily to parents, grandparents and carers of children attending Carisbrooke CE Primary and Nine Acres Primary schools.  The Family Room is also available for the general public to access.

 

The Family Room is situated in a purpose built mobile in the grounds of Carisbrooke CE Primary school, and has kitchen, toilet and baby changing facilities as well as a large room where activities take place.

 

Courses and sessions that have previously taken place include Healthy Eating and General Information sessions, Literacy and Numeracy Skills for adults, an IT course, Keeping Up With the Children and First Aid courses.  A very popular Parent & Toddler Group also meets every week during term time.
